Shanghai Premier League

Amigos,
Lions – E-Rouge 0-2
The French were very happy after their first time victory over the lions, allthough the lions had the major possession of the game, the red stars managed to get two surprise goals behind Nicolas, one was great lob. A few defensive mistakes gave the Lions open goal scoring opportunities but it seemed that they didn’t want to score.

Hawks – Foxes 0-1
Very pleased to see both teams back in action and its was an entertaining game with the decisive goal only falling at the end of the game. Foxes managed to contract an argentine goal keeper just released from Boca Juniors, believe he would do  very  well in the Chinese Circus, great acrobat and he kept the clean sheet for the Foxes

Vlis – Japan  0-1
Japan got the opening goal after that they decided to sit back and play only on the counter attack, Vlis had to come and came very close a few times, not sure why they didn’t score as Japan had the shortest player on the field as goalkeeper…..!! Congratulations to Japan as they are the new leader of the SPL.

Last weekend we didn’t see a lot of goals we can find three explanations 1) defenders are getting better 2) strikers are out of form 3) goalkeepers are getting better. If you ask me I will go for option 3.

For the teams who didn’t pay the league fee yet, make sure this weekend its done !

Watching all three games last Sunday, I noticed that a few players had to retire from the games due to injuries. Of course we want to play to win and we are not “pussy’s” but we as well have to be carefull not to hurt each other, we want everybody to enjoy the games and play as many games as possible instead of having to visit parkway or sino-united for three weeks in a row, pls keep this in mind.

Coming Sunday the weather will be good, bit cooler 15 degrees but dry the field is in good shape so enjoy the games.

10.00 AM Hawks-E-Rouge
old time rivals since the world cup final guaranteed entertaining to watch.

12.00 PM Vlis – Foxes
no idea who will win this game, let it be the strongest team.
14.00 PM Bulls – Lions
Lions are still in rebuilding phase lets see whether Bilgin warriors can take advantage of it.

See you all on Sunday / Cheers Freek / SPL President on behalf of the SPL committee !!

Don't quite agree to option 3 there, Freek!
Given, Thys did a great job in the goal first half, but I had to be keeper for the second half...so that would not explain things.
