Amigo’s and Amiga’s,
What an interesting weekend it was ! I have never had so many text message in my life from players asking whether the games are still on ? Starting from Saturday afternoon going on well after mid-night and started again 6.50 AM on Sunday (yamada-san). Despite the typhoon in Puxi we played the games and saw all teams in action !
Vlis – Dulwich 0-8
I watched the first 15 minutes and saw two equal teams but Dulwich took the lead through a super shot from a long long distance. When I returned to see the second game I saw several Belgium friends drinking piles of beer so I thought they were celebrating their victory ! Quickly I found out they were drinking their sorrow’s away after their 0-8 defeat. Dulwich coach John Hinde was a relieved man as he came under severe pressure after two BIG back to back defeats so this victory will give him some breathing space for at least one more week..
Bulls – Galacticos 3-3 (Galacticos win 6-5 on penalties)
Whenever the Bulls are playing there will be a lot of goals, this game was no exception ! A real cup tie with both team going for the win. Galacticos was down 0-2 at half time but fought their way back and took the lead 3-2 with 10 minutes to go. The Bulls kept on fighting as usual and managed to get the draw 3-3 so it was up to penalties! Everybody seemed to find it easy to find the net until………Nico’s father stepped up to take the final penalty. Not sure what he was thinking but maybe the presence of his wife and son must have made him feel under enormous pressure as his soft kick was an easy target for the happy Galacticos Goalie ! Bilgin was unlucky again and I suggested him to go to a Chinese temple to turn the luck around !
E-Rouge – Lions 1-1 (Lions win 4-2 on penalties)
This game was a battle of the middle field and indeed the battle was hard but fair. Both teams didn’t create a lot of changes and at the end the draw was the correct result. Nicolas the Lions goalie stopped a penalty and after the French player missed the fourth penalty it was game over too bad as I was number 5 in the penalty line up !
Hawks – Japan 3-1
There was an invasion of Japanese players on the field and for a moment I thought we are playing in Tokyo instead of Green City . The Hawks are the team to beat this season but they played very well resulting in several goal scoring opportunities. In the end they were 3-0 leading and Japan started to fight back 3-1 with 10 minutes to go. Japan still had two golden opportunities to score but couldn’t finish it.
So the semi cup finals will be played on May 17th
Dulwich – Galacticos and
Lions – Hawks
This Sunday march 29 we have league games planned and the weather will be good clear sky and 15 degrees !
10.00 AM E-Rouge – Dulwich

Don’t miss the action as nothing better than Spring weather and Football on Sunday !
