Dear Japanese Eliminators,

Yes, few words were going around such as, we “killed” or “eliminated” our Japanese friends. Personally being honest, if I have the choice to loose against one team within the SPL League, I would choose to lose against Japan and would be happy to leave the 3 points with them. For me the attitude the team plays is unique all over Shanghai. No complaints, no screaming around, no blabla and very fair players. This is what soccer should be all about. I really want to stop our behavior were some of our guys scream all over the place for any foul and issue: Dennis, Javier, Stoyan and Aydin, really big area of improvement required here.

But this Sunday there were unfortunately no presents for my Japanese friends, as we still have an open issue with Japan FC. As all of us remember, we lost last year in the Summer Cup in an unbelievable way, as usual stupidly in penalty shot outs. The first game at that time the Bulls lost 3:2 and in the second game a week later we were 3-1 in advance, before Japan scored 2 minutes before the end of the game the 3-2. Thanks to Mustafa, I will blame him for this for life, as I had put together an amazing team for that tournament and we unfortunately only finished 5th, after we missed 3 out of 3 penalties in the shot outs. This defeat hunted me for nearly a year.

History is history and I once promised Yamada that I will pay him back this game. The time was not better then the last weekend, as with a win of Japan over the Bulls the Japanese would have made the championship this year, but a loss would meant that they must win in the last game against Lions next week. Freek was all week bothering me and offering the Bulls Latina after the game, but as all of you know, such peanut bribes are not enough for Chief Coach and my demands to provide the team some additional during the dinner “entertainment” Freek was not able to fulfill.

As usual Chief Coach arrived nearly an hour before the game and the Japanese Team was stretching, running, moving, etc., my eyes didn’t know where to look first. Motivation was in the air, it was easily recognized.

The squad:
Goalkeeper [3], Javier [2]; Dennis [2]; Yang [3]; Alan [3], Eric [2], Stoyan [2]; Aydin [3]; Aytekin [2], Marc Elwert [3]; Marvin [1]; Stoyan Two [3]; Erwin [3]

Man of the Match:
My new Bulgarian weapon, who joined us some weeks ago and scored both goals, no, not Stoyan, “Marvin”. Before the game I clearly asked him for improvement of his performance he had a week before and he promised that it will be not a problem, as this week he was not out drinking Bacardi! Btw, he even really works for Bacardi! It was easily seen that he was running like hell.

Referee
Rumors were around, if the referee was the 12th man for the Japanese…which says something about his performance
J. But it was a fair game, not many fouls.

Game Highlights
The game started for the first 15 min for the Japanese, we somehow did not make it out of our half. But out of the sudden, we scored our first goal after a nice cross [flank] by Eric Nerlinger. 15 Minutes later we scored with the same method 2:0 and rescued this advantage through the second half. We dominated the game for 20 minutes. The ball was looking not good for the goalkeeper requiring from the referee to award a foul to their goalkeeper, who was pushed by our Bulgarian weapon Marvin. From the defense I think it looked like a foul, but difficult to say.

In the second half we continued to dominate the game, but in the last 20 minutes we were swimming with some stupid balls played. Japan was pressuring and got awarded with a goal after a cross pass 10m straight away from the penalty point, which means around 25m away from the our goal, to a player moving from the left wing (Erwin and Aytekin should have stopped him) into the 16m area, who then walked 10m close to our goal, before scoring with a flat shot to the right corner or our goal non-stoppable for our goal keeper.

Administration related
[Main Formation]: The additional required 200RMB have been paid by following players: Javier; Dennis; Bilgin; Alan, Stoyan One; Aydin; Aytekin, Stefan Nissl (paid me Monday); Marc Elwert [100RMB only, as he paid for the season 1,000RMB and was all time injured, therefore fair to ask for 100 only], Erwin [100 – owns me another 100]. Total 1,800RMB.
[Guest players]: Marvin [50]; Stoyan Two [50]; Eric Nerlinger [100, paid also for the last game]
[Open payments]: Erwin [100]; Yang [200]; Jamie [200]; Alex [100 – he due to his work was this year only able to join 3 - 4 games, but contributed already 1,000RMB, so for the additional 200 asked, he this time needs to pay only 100].

By collection of the open payments, I would be able to pay the rest [400RMB] to Freek [in total 12,000RMB for a season we pay]. I used out of my own pocket money for shirts, goal keeper (every time 100), other etc. currently 1,352RMB and also Alan gets around 200RMB for purchased shirts. So the team owns me and Alan total 1,552RMB, before we are back to 0.

    Bulls of Bosporus

In order to enjoy the crazy Shanghai life, we created the Bulls of Bosporus. Our team is mainly German and Turkish, but we sport Austrians, kiwis, aussis and other nationals as well.
We perform well most every season and our forwards have topped the topscorer list for SPL in more than one season!
